According to the latest reports from Windows Latest, Microsoft is working on a new feature that will allow wireless access to Android phone files. With the new feature that will provide wireless access to Android phones, no more cables will be required when you want to access Android phone files on a computer.
Wireless access to Android phones is possible!
Apple ecosystem users have been using a similar feature for years. In the Apple ecosystem, the iPhone is constantly synchronizing itself with the Mac. The computer connected to the same Wi-Fi and iCloud network can control the phone. Unlike Apple, this feature, which will come with future updates to Windows, allows access to all files of an Android phone. The user will be able to control their files as if they connected their Android device to a computer with a cable. This method, which provides wireless access to Android phones, is reportedly faster than a cable. According to the tests, the wireless file transfer speed from phone to computer was measured at approximately 1.2 GBPS (150 MB/sec) per second.
According to the report, this feature will be available in Windows 10, whose support will end in 2025. In order to use this feature when it becomes available, the user will first need to install the Microsoft Phone Link app on their Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC, both on their Android phone and on their Windows PC, to establish the connection between the phone and the PC. If the Phone Link application is not available on the user’s computer, it can be easily downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Then make sure that all access to the Phone Connection app from your Android phone is granted. Phone files will automatically appear on the computer.
The phone seen in the tests is the Xiaomi Redmi 9 model with the model code M2004J19C. Since the feature is currently randomly available, it is not known when it will be available for everyone. However, by doing what we have described above, you can start using this feature by simply updating the Phone Connection application when the time comes.
